The series of eyes and construction of this mask is reminiscent of the art of the Grebo-Krou of Côte d'Ivoire. Nevertheless, this mask is fully in line with the body of works from the Cross River region, such as the masks described and illustrated by Leo Frobenius at the end of the 19th century.
