Sio Hemis
Zuni Hemis Kachina
Actually, if this were at Zuni it would be called a Hemishikwee Kachina but at Hopi, it is the Sio Hemis. It is another of the Zuni that appeared on First Mesa in the 1890s and has been adapted to a Hopi performance. The name as well as the difference in tableta distinguish it from the Hopi form. Its function is the same as the Hemis kachina but it seldom if ever appears in the Niman ceremony.
